The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
"Should a body meet a body
Coming through the rye..."
Coming through the rye..."
All I can say is that this is one of the favorite books I have read my entire 17 1/2 years of existence. It features the anti-hero protagonist, Holden Caulfield, a bold and principled teenager. By principled, I mean that he has his own perceptions on how to deal with the struggles that come his way which actually have underlying truth to say the least. No doubt this novel was banned from schools long ago. It can have a violent and a not-suitable-for-minors theme.
Nonetheless, I liked the book. People have suggested me reading this book long ago. Trust me I think everyone knows at least one Holden Caulfield in his/her life.
Old Phoebe made me teary-eyed. :)
